Mental Health

SFCS offers professional treatment for individuals facing struggles related to their mental or emotional state.  Counseling sessions for individuals, couples or families are arranged for those overcoming obstacles including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Grief and loss
  • Anger management
  • School and behavioral problems
  • Stress management
  • Sexual abuse
  • Emotional trauma

Confidential counseling services are offered for children, adolescents, adults and families facing emotional and psychological problems.

 

Fee: Most insurance health plans are accepted

There is a cash discount of $80.00 per session for those without insurance or who wish not to access their insurance plans.
Day and evening appointments are available.


Psychiatric Services:

Psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults (18 and over) in need of medical support.
Fee: Most insurance health plans are accepted

There is a cash discount of $150.00 per session for those who do not have health insurance or do not wish to access it.
Day appointments are available.


Intelligence Testing:

Intelligence testing and written reports provided for children who wish to enter local private schools.
Fee: Up to $300.00. Price varies due to individual school requirements.
Day and evening appointments are available.

 

Drug & Alcohol Services

Drug and alcohol abuse affects individuals of every age and SFCS recognizes the advantage that awareness and education can have in the prevention of unhealthy behavior. SFCS is licensed by the state of Pennsylvania for outpatient treatment for children, adolescents and adults.

 

Drug and Alcohol Awareness Program:
This program is available for individuals or family members who believe they may benefit from six sessions of drug and alcohol education. The goal of the program is to increase knowledge about the effects of alcohol and other drugs in the body and to negate commonly held myths about alcohol and other drugs.

 Day and evening appointments are available.
*Fee: no charge for Montgomery County residents.
Requirements: If under the age of eighteen or still in high school, a parent /guardian must attend first and last session.


Drug & Alcohol Assessment:
A comprehensive drug and alcohol assessment may be granted for those who need to complete the requirements of a CRN Evaluation. This assessment may last up to 1.5 hours.

*Fee: $70.00
Day and evening appointments are available.
Requirements: A copy of CRN evaluation & a phone number of someone who can be utilized for a collateral interview.

 

Short-term Counseling/Intervention Services:
Sessions are designed to discourage the using/abusing population from further high-risk behaviors through recommendations of coping skills, evaluation of how using/abusing has impacted their lives and/or education regarding harmful effects. Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

*Fee: $65.00 per session.
Day and evening appointments are available.
Requirements: One support group meeting is required (i.e.: AA, NA, etc).

 

Outpatient Treatment:
Substance abuse or addiction is addressed in the context of the client's total functioning areas: Family, employment, medical, social, legal and individual. Treatment will address client's desire for sobriety and relapse potential. Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

*Fee: $80.00 per session
Day and evening appointments are available.
Requirements: Two support group meetings are required (i.e.: AA, NA, etc).

 

Youth Aid Panel:

For youth who were encouraged by the Youth Aid Panel to become educated about the risks and consequences of alcohol and other drug use.
Length: Four sessions
Evening appointments are available.

*Fee: No charge. Funding is provided by the Youth Aid Panel of Montgomery County.
Requirements: When calling to enroll, please state that you have been referred by the Youth Aid Panel and give your Youth Aid Panel representative's name and phone number. 

Community Services

SFCS delivers parenting programs that  focus on a wide range of topics:

 

  • The importance of parent self-esteem
  • Effective ways to communicate with your child
  • Assertive discipline
  • How to build a child's self-esteem
  • Time management for your child and family

 

Help your child and family develop healthy routines this school year with programs that confront relevant issues :

 

  • Time management and organizational skill building
  • Current trends in substance use
  • Stress management

Business Community

Employee Assistance Programs

SFCS has designed its Employee Assistance Programs to support members of the business community as they face difficulties in the workplace. SFCS can assist employees and their families with a variety of issues that may affect their lives at work and at home. For example, SFCS can confront organizational issues affecting employees such as drug-free workplace policies. 

 

SFCS is also available to provide guidance to companies that already offer similar programs. If a company is in need of this type of service, SFCS is prepared to discuss the options with the organization.

 

Training Workshops
SFCS provides training workshops to teachers, psychologists, nurses, addiction counselors and other mental health providers. The benefits of these workshops include the enhancement of professional skills and the possibility of continuing education credits.
